XD I'm sort of obsessed with Donna Troy and recently i've been falling in love with the wonder woman series as well. I am at the point where I kind of want to become Diana in a way that has me singing up for gym and lifting weights..... *whistles innocently* Anyway, i love DONNA! because she was a titan, because she is the imperfect version of the perfect woman, the wonder woman, Diana. She's the girl in the shadow. Most importantly, i love that she has played so many roles and taken on so many titles and cant seem to really find who she is or what she is about. I can actually relate to that. It's weird, some would consider Donna Troy to be a failure of a character but the fact that I can relate to at least my interpretation of her makes her so much more real to me.

I created this costume over 5 weeks from the bottom up (corset, leotard, armor, gladiator skirt, boots etc etc) from scratch. There isnt a thing on this costume that i have not toiled over for countless hours (200+ total for this costume). I purchased a 20ft children's lariat online and then gilded the whole thing in imitation gold leaf to make it shine!! I spent a lot of time teaching myself how to lasso XD I really enjoy being Donna and Diana! It took about 50 sheets of leaf and a lot of time but it looked way better than the spray paint.


 I wore this to the Caribbean Cosplay championship, but did not place since i had to finish some parts in a hurry and worse yet i couldn't get my progress photos printed   however, I still secured a judges award from the amazing Eve Beauregard who loved my hard work so much and as it turns out, is also a deep fan of the amazons too. I also received a lot of compliments from the posse of G.I.Joe creator and comic-book writer Larry Hama XD that was awesome! They kept saying how they were big on wonder woman and they loved the way I portrayed this particular gal. I am so grateful because I worked really hard on this costume and I probably would have cried if told that it was still crap despite my effort. I have a pretty soft heart you know~.  

I love this costume to bits and i am currently in the ongoing process of reviewing the finishing touches for a photoshoot with the same photographer (this was taken shortly after the competition). That means, hopefully, i can share awesome pictures of this cosplay eventually....but until then, you can have this one : D The progress pictures from the build can be found on my cosplay page, which i use to share all the stuff i can't on dA . i would really smile and feel appreciative of you and love you creepily from a distance if you supported me there too. I've been cosplay-bullied where i am (edit: it's stopped now) so i find comfort and kinship online I'm still building skill and confidence, but i do enjoy cosplaying both for the craft and for the heck of it. This was my 6th costume~!. I find that the art i can create is not limited to the costume. If I can find the right photographers and friends to cosplay with etc etc, there are some really novel ideas that i want to try...
